2 Days Watching Turtles

   Giorno 1

   Muscat, Wadi Shab and Ras Al Hadd

   In the morning, the tour starts with a short city tour of Muscat. Then leave Muscat for Sur by the coastal road, passing Quriyat, a small coastal fishing village.

   Make a photo stop at the Bimmah Sinkhole, then continue along the white sandy beach of Fins, which invites you in for a relaxing swim.

   A graded track leads to Wadi Shab, a spectacular wadi with fresh water most of the year, banana plantations and rocky paths. Swim from pool to pool through its warm water.

   Continue to Sur and Ras Al Hadd, where your overnight stay is arranged.

   After dinner, you are driven to the Ras Al Jinz Turtle Sanctuary, a protected green turtle nesting reserve. Watch Oman's sea turtles nest and lay eggs on the beach, and perhaps see baby turtles hatching.

   Overnight in Ras Al Hadd. Turtle watching is optional and its tickets are not included. Lunch and dinner are optional.

   Giorno 2

   Wadi Bani Khaled and the Wahiba Sands

   After breakfast, continue to Wadi Bani Khaled, one of the biggest wadis in Oman, for a refreshing swim in its cool water.

   Drive on to the Wahiba Sands to experience a true desert, almost a sea of constantly shifting sand. Drive through the dunes, enjoy 4x4 dune bashing and ride camels.

   Visit a local Bedouin family in their home for a close look at their way of life, and share coffee and dates with them.

   Return to Muscat in the late afternoon. Lunch is optional.
