概要

Salalah is the capital of Dhofar and the seat of its wali. It is the second-largest city in the Sultanate of Oman and is well known for the incense trade.

Salalah was once the capital of Oman, and the Sultan lived there. When Sultan Qaboos came to power, he moved the capital from Salalah to Muscat.

This half-day tour takes you to Al Baleed Museum and through the souks and old houses of the town.

1日の流れ

  1. You are picked up between 08:00 and 08:30.

  2. Head to Al Baleed Museum for a guided tour of its displays on the archaeology, history and heritage of the Dhofar region, and on the archaeological and maritime history of Oman.

  3. Drive into town, passing Al Baleed, the site of an ancient harbour that is now being excavated.

  4. Walk past the Sultan's Palace to the Frankincense Souk, known for its perfume oils and incense burners.

  5. Visit the gold souk to see traditional and modern Dhofari jewellers.

  6. See the Dhofari houses on the way to Haffa Souk, with its neat rows of shops selling incense boxes.

  7. Your last stop is the Zufar and Al Baleed ruins.
