概要

Nakhal is a typical Omani village at the foot of the mountains. An abundant source of water nearby irrigates its large date palm plantations.

This easy tour is full of culture and history. It follows the Batinah coastline to Nakhal, then continues to Rustaq, whose name means 'the large village'. Rustaq lies south of the Batinah coastline and is known for its hot springs.

Along the way you visit three forts: Nakhal, Rustaq and Al Hazm.

1日の流れ

ステップごとに

  1. Pickup is between 08:00 and 08:30. Drive along the Batinah coastline.

  2. Stop at the Seeb fish market on the way.

  3. Visit the oasis of Nakhal, Al Thowarah, and see the source of its natural springs.

  4. Visit Nakhal Fort, one of Oman's most beautiful forts, thought to be pre-Islamic. It houses a museum of old guns run by the Ministry of Tourism, and holds a weekly goat souk.

  5. Continue to Rustaq, once the capital of Oman in the Middle Ages. The best known of its hot springs, Ain Al Kasfa, is said to help with rheumatism and skin diseases because of its sulphur.

  6. Visit Rustaq Fort, said to be the highest fort in Oman. It has been restored several times.

  7. Drive about 20 km to Al Hazm Fort, built around 1700 AD and known for its beautiful gates, crafted hundreds of years ago.
