概要
Billad Sayt is a mountain village on the north-east slope of the Al Hajar Mountains, near Jebel Shams, the highest peak in Oman. You can reach it through Wadi Al Sahtan and Wadi Bani Awf from the north-east, or via Al Hamra from the south-west, and only by 4WD.
This day trip from Muscat is for travellers who like old villages and scenic views. You drive through Wadi Bani Awf to the village and its terraced fields, and return via Nakhl.
1日の流れ
ステップごとに
Leave Muscat and drive to Barka, then take the road towards Rustaq.
Pass Al Awabi and continue for another 10 km, then turn right at the road sign for Wadi Bani Awf.
Drive about 25 km through the wadi to an intersection, where the road to Billad Sayt is well signposted.
Arrive in Billad Sayt after a magnificent drive, with spectacular views of palm groves and terraced gardens.
The lush green terraces are the main source of life here. From a distance, the small fields and their stone walls form a regular, symmetrical pattern.
Sit and relax in the shade.
Drive back to Muscat via Nakhl.
