A two-day shore excursion package from Muscat Port, combining the desert and the sea.
On the first day you drive to the multicoloured dunes of the Wahiba Sands, then walk to the spring-fed pools of Wadi Bani Khaled. On the second you head out by speedboat along Muscat's coast to watch dolphins, and snorkel in the bay of Bandar Khiran.

The Wahiba Sands and Wadi Bani Khaled
Leave Muscat in a 4WD vehicle and head for the Wahiba Sands, travelling into the Hajar Mountains and through Wadi Al Aqq, then through the townships of Ibra and Al Qabil.
Enjoy the multicoloured sands of Wahiba. In the north-east, enormous dunes reach up to 300 feet high, and your guide shows you his experience in driving them.

Continue to the oasis of Wadi Bani Khaled in the Sharqiah region, where water flows all year from a natural spring at the top of the wadi. Head for its source, a series of deep pools at the narrow end of the wadi, and Moqal Cave.
Take an easy walk along the riverbed, with free time to enjoy the cool rock pools, then return to Muscat Port.

Dolphin watching and snorkelling
Board a speedboat and enjoy views of Muscat's coastal landmarks: Al Bustan Palace Hotel, Al Bustan Village, Qantab Village, Bandar Jissah, the Shangri-La resort, Yeti village, Muscat Palace and Muttrah port.
Watch the dolphins, undisturbed. The acrobatic spinners may be courting, communicating, resting, socialising, nursing or teaching their young, and on a lucky day you may come across whales.

Your captain helps you identify the different dolphins. Most often you see spinner, bottlenose and common dolphins.
After the dolphin watching, you can snorkel for 1 hour around the bay of Bandar Khiran, then return to Muscat Port.
